BACKGROUND INFORMATION - MBDA's GLOBALIZATION SUPPORT SERVICES

MBDA’s objective is to provide access to the global economy for minority business enterprises (MBEs). In 2009, the Chicago Network Enterprise Center is making a special effort to provide support for MBEs in expanding their corporate strategy and international business development goals through one-on-one sessions and educational events for all three phases of globalization:

1. PREPARATION – Develop a global strategy that integrates the international business objectives into the overall company strategy. Educate the leadership team in the business culture of the international target markets. Identify potential partners in the local markets.

2. ORIENTATION – Travel to the target international market and experience the culture. Meet with potential partners. Study market assumptions locally. Practice local business networking and identify potential business and cultural barrier.

3. IMPLEMENTATION – Identify key personnel to manage the globalization projects. Recruit staff or establish partnership with local companies that can implementation your company strategy. Establish a communication process that integrates into your company operations.
